Annual Review of Grants Criteria, Methods, Systems and Policies:

Following a review of its relative grants policies etc, the Foundation’s Trustees resolve the following:

  • To fix the maximum amounts for overseas travel for NZ representatives as follows:
    • $700.00 for travel to Australia and South Pacific Islands;
      and
    • $1,500 for travel beyond Australia/Pacific Islands
    • Travel grants for teams be capped at $10,000
  • To increase limits for the annual Education Round as follows and restrict preschools/schools to only one grant per calendar year for such purpose(s) as each preschool/school may determine:
    • Preschools                   $2,500
    • Primary/Intermediate   $5,000
    • Secondary                    $10,000

Grants Process:  

  • The grants process consists of four General Rounds each year, supplemented by one Educational Round with closing dates as follows:
    • 28 February
    • 31 May
    • 31 July (Education Round)
    • 31 August
    • 30 November
  • Applications outside the above grants rounds will be considered monthly only where there is an urgency which has arisen due to unforeseen circumstances.  These will be limited to a maximum of $5,000 other than in exceptional circumstances.
  • Applications for ‘major grants’, ie one of over $100,000 that offers an enduring benefit for a substantial sector of the community, may be made within the four General Grants Rounds each year.

 Grants Committee:

This committee considers all grant applications and comprises members of the Board of Trustees.
